[KiniNews] Selangor ruler Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah has decreed that the issue concerning the recent speech of caretaker Kedah Menteri Besar Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor remains unresolved.

The Sultan issued this decree after separately meeting with Selangor PAS Chief Ahmad Yunus Hairi and Selangor Police Chief Hussein Omar Khan in Shah Alam.

The audiences were convened to discuss Sanusi's remarks, delivered in Selangor, which have been perceived as offensive to the Selangor royal institution.

Despite an apology from Sanusi for his July 11 speech, the matter remains unsettled, according to a statement from the Selangor Royal Office.

During his controversial speech, Sanusi compared the royal households of Kedah and Selangor and suggested that the Kedah ruler would not have chosen Amirudin Shari as Menteri Besar.

This provoked a flurry of police reports against him for alleged defamation of the royal institution, including one from the Selangor Royal Council, an advisory body to the Selangor ruler.
