[KiniNews] Umno Youth chief Dr Muhamad Akmal Saleh said he is willing to lose his position in return for defending Islam on the controversial issue of the sale of socks imprinted with the word “Allah” at KK Mart.

Akmal reportedly said that he also does not mind the reprimand from fellow leaders from components in the coalition government, as his acts are in line with Umno’s struggle to uphold Malay rights and the Islamic religion.

“I’m willing to lose my position, as long as I have done my part to defend my religion. This position is only secondary,” he said.

Meanwhile, in a separate story, former Umno information chief Isham Jalil has lodged a police report against Farhash Wafa Salvador over an alleged investment worth nearly RM40 million in a company shortlisted for a government contract.

Isham said he would lodge another report with the MACC, alleging the matter may involve elements of misuse of power.
