[KiniNews] Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar has asserted his role as guardian of the people's interests, stressing that his duty extends beyond ceremonial duties.

In his address during the federal territories' awards ceremony at Istana Negara, Sultan Ibrahim emphasised the end of the "honeymoon" period, signalling a shift towards his genuine approach to governance.

His Majesty declared that he is not a statue to be worshipped or used as an ornament in a ceremony or to be forced to follow all the words and wishes of ministers.

Meanwhile, in a separate story, Umno Youth chief Dr. Muhamad Akmal Saleh remained resolute in his call to boycott KK Mart.

This is despite the store's apology for stocking socks bearing the word "Allah" that were deemed offensive.
