Dewan Rakyat speaker Azhar Azizan Harun has defended the timeline set by Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin for when Parliament should reopen.
He said it was the prime minister that sets the date for when Parliament can convene, with the king's consent, and that the projection given was "rational".

In a statement, Azhar denied saying Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin's plan to reconvene Parliament in September was rational.
