Organisation of Islamic Countries (OIC) special envoy to Myanmar Syed Hamid Albar suggested that the Rohingyas in Malaysia be issued with a special immigration card to allow them to be identified and receive aid.
He said the proposed new system could allow for registered Rohingyas to apply for jobs legally, to allow them to enrol their children in schools and to receive medical attention.
