No, this is not a “Tangled” mess of rumors you are about to hear because Disney just announced plans to bring the hit movie, Tangled, to the small screen in a brand-new animated series.
And no, I’m also not ashamed to admit that when I first heard the news, I too went RUNNING and DANCING and CHASING and LEAPING with JOY. Ok, ok, but for real, you’ll get to see Rapunzel and Flynn Rider back in action as Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi are reprising their roles on Disney Channels around the world in 2017.
Gary Marsh, President of Disney Channels worldwide spoke out about the news, saying QUOTE, The genius of the original movie was its seamless blending of cinematic adventure, character-driven comedy and touching emotion. We are fortunate to have several of the creative talent from that movie on board with this new production. With the addition of Chris and Shane as Executive Producers, we have the perfect team in place to create a series worthy of the original film.”
The series will be set between the events of the feature film and the start of the 2012 short film, Tangled Ever After, and will unfold as Rapunzel meets her royal parents, her kingdom and the people of Corona. She will put her marriage on hold to seek out new adventures with Eugene, AKA Flynn, and of course, her trusty companions Pascal the chameleon, Maximus the horse, the Snuggly Duckling Pub Thugs, and a new friend, Cassandra.
So it’s safe to say there will be a TON more action and adventure throughout the series, but I want to know what you guys think – are you excited about the series and will you be setting your calendars TWO years from now for the premiere?!
