Umno deputy president Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan has dismissed the notion that he should take over from de facto Umno president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
On December 18, Ahmad Zahid announced that he would hand over his duties as Umno president to deputy Datuk Seri Mohamad Hassan, in an attempt to prevent more party members from quitting the party.
Ahmad Zahid however stressed that he has not quit as party president.
