To be honest we were skeptical over whether Manaia Seafood Boil would live up to the hype but we left the place very happy and with very full bellies. Metita and Julian have created a space which celebrates the bonds that form when you break bread together. The meal is messy, immersive, fun and delicious. The whole table digs into the one giant bowl of sauce laden seafood. The buttery, garlicky sauce contains less chilli than its vibrant colour suggests and it’s utterly addictive- grab an Island donut and dunk away. We especially loved the prawns, mussels and lobster tail- all of it cooked perfectly. The team have just opened a second, bigger restaurant in Penrose so grab a bunch of mates, roll your sleeves up and dive into a delicious seafood feast.
