Former prime minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob has confirmed that he will not defend his Umno vice-president position.

He did comment on the reasons but said that he would issue a press statement soon.

Meanwhile, BN secretary-general Zambry Abdul Kadir has withdrawn from contesting for the post in the party election next month.

Zambry announced this last night after taking into consideration his official duty as foreign minister in the government.
