Why Taylor Swift Didn't Throw Her Annual Fourth Of July Party & What She Did Instead

Taylor Swift has officially broken tradition and decided to forgo throwing her annual 4th of July bash at her Rhode Island beachside mansion this year, and the Internet is crushed.
In case you weren’t fully aware, Fourth of July was cancelled this year on account of Taylor Swift’s absence from her own annual festivities.
To many Swifties, Taylor Swift’s yearly Fourth of July beach bash is a tradition as familiar as a nighttime firework show, but this year, there was no sign of Taylor and her squad members at her Rhode Island mansion extravaganza. So yes, that means NO matching bikinis, NO I heart T.S. shirts, and NO professional water slide photos.
BUT what many did notice was the fact that the giant inflatable water slide featured on Taylor’s Instagram last year, WAS still standing in her backyard, but the only people spotted on Tay’s property were her parents, Scott and Andrea Swift. It was also reported that Taylor's dad sent over 1989 guitar picks to some hopeful fans waiting outside the property with "We Love You Taylor" signs.
SO the burning question remains – where exactly WAS Taylor hiding this year? Although photos surfaced of her parents enjoying time in her backyard, one photo featured what looked like two more men joining the bunch, along with a short blonde, curly-haired girl in a denim top that looked an awful lot like Taylor herself, so it seems ilke she still may be laying low and out of the spotlight for the time being, especially now that she has a new rumored boyfriend on the line. A source previously told People that QUOTE, “Taylor has been insanely private about her relationship with Joe Alwyn. She wanted to get to know him without any chaos. She has learned from the past.”
So it looks like we won’t be seeing any monogrammed T.S. articles of clothing any time soon, and whether or not that’s a good thing, the Internet sure did have some things to say about her lack of an Independence Day celebration. One user wrote, “Nothing from Taylor on July 4th, that's like my own mother not telling me happy birthday on my damn birthday,” while another Twitter user cleverly used images of her party from last year, and an error code to describe her party this year, saying “taylor swift 4th of July 2016 vs. taylor swift 4th of July 2017.”
Some fans were rather angry at Taylor, tweeting things like, “Good morning to everyone except Taylor Swift who didn’t upload any pictures at 4th of July” but one person summed it up perfectly, asking the hard-hitting question, “Did the 4th of July even happen if @taylorswift13 didn't throw a party?”
