Zac Efron is about to play a lawyer in his latest film, and we do NOT object to this casting news! See what we did there? It's being reported that dreamy 26-year-old actor will be replacing Shia LaBeouf in the upcoming big screen adaptation of John Grisham's novel, The Associate. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the plot of the movie centers on a recent Yale Law School grad -- played by Zac -- who is blackmailed by criminals and forced to work at the world's largest law firm. The criminals get Zac's character to gather intel into the law firms' work with a dispute between two powerful defense contractors worth billions. This movie sounds like it has it all: Mystery! Intrigue! And most importantly -- a REALLY hot leading man. In addition to starring in the movie, Zac will also produce the film alongside Doug Wick and Lucy Fisher who were behind Divergent -- so you KNOW this movie is going to be good! Apparently, the rights to this book were bought all the way back in 2008, before the book was even published in 2009. Shia was actually attached to star in this movie for quite some time, so we find it very interesting that his fellow Disney Channel buddy will be stepping in. How cute are those pics by the way -- a fun throwback Thursday for sure. And, changing gears a bit here, you guys probably already know that Shia and Zac have both been making headlines for their bizarre behavior as of late -- Shia wearing bags over his head to premieres, while Zac got in a fight in a sketchy neighborhood in L.A. Well, let's just hope that keeping busy will keep Zac out of trouble! Other details such as a director, writer, release date, etc are still unknown at this time, but you know we'll keep you updated.
