Zayn Malik Returns to One Direction After Drug Rumors- Twitter Explodes!

As many of you Directioners are well aware, Christmas came early this year- and by that I mean Zayn Malik finally reunited with 1D in Orlando last night after being MIA due to an illness. The Dark Ages were real over the past few days due to Zayne’s absence from 1D’s appearance on the TODAY show and their album FOUR’s release day! But early this morning, Zayne tweeted, “Feels good to be back, thanks for all your support! love you people.” The cause of Zayne’s illness was vague but after Matt Lauer publicly questioned the group on whether or not his absence was drug related, Zayne was not a happy camper. Neither were directioners. Matt Lauer asked the remaining four in a live interview on The Today Show “Is it something more serious than just a minor illness? There have been rumors of substance abuse. What’s going on?” to which Liam responded saying that Zayn “just got a stomach bug.” Later Zayn told U.K’s the Sun QUOTE – “I’m really angry and upset by what was said on the ‘Today’ show. I was gutted to have to miss the album release day, but I’m going to be back as soon as I can. As soon as I’m feeling better I’m going to join the guys and carry on with the promotion for the album.” And that he did. On a happier note, upon Zayn’s return, fans were beside themselves with excitement. Twitter was rushed with “Feel Better Zayn” hashtags and “Zayn is back” memes. One fan posted a picture of Beyonce catchin’ the Holy Ghost with the caption, “thank god #ZaynIsBack.” While another posted a #ZaynIsBack meme that showed Zayn crying with the caption “got the whole fandom like.” So as you can see the struggle was real, but fret no longer Directioners, the man is back.
