Almost every former Disney Channel star goes through an intense transformation period where they would do anything and everything to shed their Disney image, so with that being said, is Zendaya next?
To this day, Zendaya continues to be a good role model for young girls everywhere, but once her Disney days are over, will she continue to be a good role model or will she pull a Miley?
Well, don’t expect Zendaya to follow in Miley Cyrus’ footsteps and start shedding her good girl image for a sexier one. The Disney Channel star opened up to Complex magazine about her former peers going to the extreme to shed their Disney image and explained why she won’t be doing the same. Zendaya said QUOTE, ‘A lot of them were forced into being role models and they had to pretend to be something that they didn’t feel matched up to who they were…You’ve got to realize when you’re really young, you don’t know who you are yet. And as soon as you figure it out, you’ve already been forced to becoming something that you didn’t really know you signed up for. Everyone has their different ways of learning and growing and finding out who they are, and you can’t fault people for that. Again, I think with all the prior Disney stars, at least you can say they are themselves now.’ Leave it to Zendaya to put everyone who has ever bashed a child star for going through a crazy transformation in their place.
The young star revealed she won’t be pulling a Miley because she already knows who she is. Zendaya said QUOTE, ‘That’s why I said, in order to avoid those problems, just be yourself from the beginning and be honest with the world, because that’s the only thing you can do. There will be no surprises. I’m not suddenly going to be like woo, crazy. And if I do, then hey. But I highly, highly doubt it.’
