【本報訊】「假鑽黨」近年時有所聞，騙徒使用的道具亦越來越完美，令人防不勝防。典當業界解釋以往行騙用的較多是莫桑石（摩星石），其外貌雖與鑽石相近，但物理特性始終有異，故存在破綻，用放大鏡細看可看到鑽石內部有重影或羽狀紋；但近年漸興起的的CVD合成鑽石用細小真鑽作肧胎，並使用微波加熱原理逐層加入碳子，以製造出外貌與天然真鑽石幾乎一樣的高質人造鑽石，就連資深珠寶業界或當舖職員，也往往要靠驗鑽機等儀器方能辨出鑽石真假，稍一不慎便會遭騙倒。
