国大党主席维纳斯瓦兰的上议院主席任期届满，他今天在国会发表卸任演讲时，呼吁恢复马来王室的刑事免控权。
维纳斯瓦兰也认为，1993年修改宪法削弱王权，是违反宪法的行为。
他随后接受媒体采访时也说，“如果保护了（马来王室的权利），那么整体而言，也就保护了马来族群。无论是谁执政，都不会影响到他们的（权力），因为王室（的权力）已备受保护。”
