Aaron Carter has a strong point of view on Justin Bieber’s career--namely that he helped pave the way for it to happen!
Aaron went on the “Allegedly” podcast with Theo Von & Matthew Cole Weiss to discuss his new EP, LøVë, but things quickly turned into a discussion about Aaron’s beef with Justin and his manager, Scooter Braun.
It all started back in 2015, when Justin’s lawyer was asked by Billboard magazine how his client QUOTE, “did not turn into Aaron Carter”. His lawyer responded by telling the mag QUOTE, “I have a speech that I give to clients called the five F’s to staying grounded in this business: family, faith, friends, fans and the formula. I think for Justin, connecting with all five F’s, especially with faith, helped him through some confusing times.”
At the time, Aaron admitted that he found those comments completely outlandish and upsetting, and it doesn’t sound like time’s healed that wound just yet. When the Allegedly hosts asked Aaron about the comments on the podcast, he threw down some major shade..
He also added a dig at Justin, saying QUOTE, “I hope you’re enjoying my pavement”, because he feels that his career as a young pop star paved the way for Justin to have a successful career years later.
So where do Aaron’s claims that he paved the way for Justin come from? According to Aaron, as a young male popstar he broke through taboos in order for artists like Justin to follow suit.
Aaron even suggested that he was more successful as an artist than Justin when it came to records sold…
Okay, I don’t have the stats on me right now, but it’s a little hard to believe that Aaron has sold more records than Justin to this day. One thing I am certain of, though, is that there definitely won’t be any Aaron Carter/Justin Bieber collabs in this lifetime--and I guess I can accept that.
