About 20 BN and PAS lawmakers boarded a bus from PWTC to head to Istana Negara this afternoon, to seek an audience with the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah.
Around 60 media members have been on standby outside the Gate 2 of the palace where 90 MPs are expected to have an audience with the King today.
MPs are being interviewed in accordance with the Federal Constitution which says that the Yang di-Pertuan Agong must appoint someone who enjoys the confidence of the majority.
While there is no clear indication that any political coalition has a sufficient number of MPs to form a new government, there is a possibility of the formation of a minority government.
This is provided that interim Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad has gained enough support from majority MPs.
