Allison won the Goldon Globe for this role, she won the Critic’s Choice Award, and now the SAG Award. In her acceptance speech tonight, she thanked her fellow nominees as well as the incredible cast and creative minds behind I, Tonya.
She went on to thank the director of I, Tonya Craig Gillespie for encouraging the cast to go further with their roles and be brave in taking risks with their choices. She was also sure to thank her personal friend and screenwriter Steven Rogers who wrote the role of Tonya’s mother with Allison in mind.
Allison Janney is killin’ it this award show season and I’m not a psychic but that Oscar is lookin’ pretty graspable for her if the winning streak continues.
Sam Rockwell was another winner of the night who took home the award for Best Male Actor in a Supporting Role for Three Billboard’s Outside Ebbing Missouri.
He thanked everyone in SAG-Aftra as well as his fellow nominees and co-stars. He also offered some inspiring words to struggling actors out there and gave a shout out to all of the women in light of the times up movement.
