Unknown to many people, massive clearing has been taking place over the years on a hill slope in Teluk Bahang near the dam, probably even without the knowledge of the authorities. The bald patch is 30ha in size. Villagers in the Teluk Bahang fishing village as well Teluk Bahang assemblyman Datuk Shah Headan Hussain Ayob Shah are unaware of the barren tracts.
