Anwar announces increase in Rahmah cash aid scheme

The Rahmah cash aid (STR) scheme will be improved and increased under Budget 2024, with the maximum amount of aid that can be received increased from RM3,100 to RM3,700.

The minimum rate for youths receiving STR will also increase from RM350 to RM500.

Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim said the first STR payment to eligible households will also be increased from RM300 to RM500, which Anwar said will hopefully be channelled to them before Ramadan next year.
