Ariana Grande posts a touching tribute to her late ex, Mac Miller, on Instagram.
Ari has finally broken her silence over her Mac Miller’s death.
It’s been one week since rapper and music producer Mac Miller was found dead of an apparent drug overdose in his Los Angeles home, and ever since the news broke there has been an outpouring of friends, family members, and fans sharing their shock and heartbreak over the 26-year-old’s death.
Ariana Grande is the latest to share her devastation over Mac’s overdose. She and dated Mac for two years before the couple amicably parted ways earlier this year, and while her initial response to the news of Mac’s death was to post a candid, captionless photo of him to her Instagram page, she’s now put her feelings into words.
In an intimate and deeply moving post accompanied with a video of a smiling Mac, Ari wrote QUOTE, “i adored you from the day i met you when i was nineteen and i always will. i can’t believe you aren’t here anymore. i really can’t wrap my head around it. we talked about this. so many times. i’m so mad, i’m so sad i don’t know what to do. you were my dearest friend. for so long. above anything else. i’m so sorry i couldn’t fix or take your pain away. i really wanted to. the kindest, sweetest soul with demons he never deserved. i hope you’re okay now. Rest.”
If that wasn’t enough of an absolute tear-jerker, the video Ari posted is just as bittersweet. The video appears to have be filmed during an intimate dinner Ari and Mac enjoyed while they were still together. In the clip, Mac is in the middle of saying something when he realizes Ari is filming. The rapper instantly becomes shy and both of them can’t stop giggling.
After Mac’s death trolls flooded to Ari’s social media accounts to blame her for Mac’s overdose and subsequent death, which prompted the “God is a Woman” singer to turn off the comments on Instagram altogether. We’re so glad that despite all the trolling and completely unwarranted hate she’s received, she still put out her touching tribute.
So what do you guys think of Ari’s heartbreaking Instagram message to Mac? Leave her some love in the comments below.
