Ariana Grande Pays An EMOTIONAL Tribute To Aretha Franklin On The Tonight Show

Ariana Grande’s Sweetener is finally here and she visited The Tonight Show to promote her new album. While she was there she performed a beautiful rendition of Aretha Franklin’s “Natural Woman” that had us in tears.
Ariana was definitely emotional during her tribute, but when chatting with Jimmy Fallon, she talked about actually meeting Aretha.
She then told Fallon about the time that Aretha called unexpectedly and she was like Aretha? But of course, there probably aren’t that many Aretha’s in the world. Anyway, Aretha was calling to ask Ariana to listen to her nephew or grandson’s song and Ariana said, “Oh my God, I'd be honored to listen! Thank you for thinking of me. Just text me the MP3." But Aretha’s response was gold.
The Tonight Show wasn’t the only place where Ariana payed tribute to Aretha. She also posted a clip of Aretha performing ‘I Say A Little Prayer’ with the caption “forever” and a heart emoji. She also posted a black and white picture of her hugging the Queen of Soul and you can see the pure joy on their faces.
I’m sure there will be many more tributes to come in the coming weeks, but so grateful for the time that Aretha was here with us.
