Bersatu information chief Wan Saiful Wan Jan has alleged that there are attempts to silence government critics after the authorities summoned a Perikatan Nasional lawmaker and activist.

"We were informed that an activist has been called up for questioning this afternoon.

"An MP has also been summoned by authorities for publishing content said to be inappropriate or challenging the government," the Tasek Gelugor MP told a press conference in Parliament.

He, however, declined to reveal the identity of the lawmaker.
