Former Election Commission chief Abdul Rashid Abdul Rahman is to be selected as Bersatu's candidate to contest the nation's administrative capital of Putrajaya in the coming 14th general election.
According to party sources, Abdul Rashid, was confirmed as the candidate during a meeting last week and this is to be announced by party president Muhyiddin Yassin on Sunday.
Previously, Bersatu chairperson Dr Mahathir Mohamad's name had been teased as the party's Putrajaya candidate. However, it has since been confirmed that the ex-premier will contest Langkawi.
