Beyonce’s “Lemonade” dealt with some pretty serious themes and concepts, but all the internet could do was fixate on Jay Z’s reported infidelity…and it was kind of hilarious.
As if “Lemonade” didn’t roast Jay Z enough! Members of the Beyhive and internet users alike just had to add fuel to the fire by creating a TON of memes and no one was safe, not even the Queen B herself.
Leave it to the internet to just create some of the best jokes about “Lemonade.” While cheating is nothing to laugh about, these internet users and Beyhive members beg to differ. When B’s second visual album made its debut on HBO on April 23rd, a ton of memes that joked about Jay having 100 problems started popping up on Twitter.
Some shared an image of a confused Jay with the words QUOTE “When you not sure if you need to drop a diss track on your wife.” While another popular one was of people imagining what Jay’s “reaction” was while watching “Lemonade” with the rest of the world. Others even turned the cheating jokes around on themselves and joked that QUOTE, “Beyonce is making me feel like my man cheating and I don’t even have one.”
But all cheating and Jay Z jokes aside, some users realized that Yonce probably knew how she was going to get revenge this whole time. An internet user brought back photos of Beyonce, Jay Z, and Solange after the infamous elevator fight at the Met Gala and wrote QUOTE, “This explains so much as to why she was so unphased back then. Beyonce was already plotting #Lemonade.” I mean, are they wrong though? You could totally tell Solange and Jay were both visibly upset, but Beyonce just had this totally calm aura around her and I’m not gonna lie, that is the face of a woman who knows just what she’s going to do to get revenge on her man.
When Beyonce referenced a ‘Becky with the good hair’ during her song “Sorry,” the Beyhive immediately started to put the pieces together and believed that Rachel Roy was the ‘Becky’ in that song, but many of them totally overlooked another celebrity who totally played Becky in a popular 90s sitcom: Aunt Becky. And guess what, she totally hopped on the ‘Becky with the good hair’ bandwagon and tweeted QUOTE, “Wasn’t me!” with an emoji of a monkey covering its mouth. Good one, Aunt Becky.
Anyway, what did you guys think of all these memes? Which was your favorite? Let me know in the comment section below!
