Bette Midler dresses up as her Hocus Pocus for her epic Halloween Party!
Bette Midler is giving us all the throwback feels with her classic Winifred Sanderson costume, and we can’t even handle how amazing she looked.
Bette went all out for her annual Hulaween Party last night at the Waldorf Astoria in New York City, dressing up as one of her most iconic characters slash our favorite evil witch, of all time. And no surprise here, she pulled it off flawlessly.
From the medieval style green dress to the terrifyingly bad teeth, to that ridiculous yet iconic orange hair, Bette had all of us feeling all kinds of 1993 nostalgia for one of the best Halloween movies of all time. And speaking of Hocus Pocus, there have actually been rumors for a number of years about a possible sequel, but much to our disappointment it’s never happened. When Billboard magazine asked Bette earlier this year why SHE thought a second movie never happened, she seemed as stunned as the rest of us, explaining QUOTE, “For the life of me, I can’t understand why there’s not a sequel...You don’t get to see women doing slapstick too much, and in the movie you can see that we’re having a blast…All the shackles were off…and we were allowed to be as wild as we wanted to be. It was a perfect storm of fun.”
Preach, Bette, preach! Hocus Pocus really is the perfect storm of fun, which is why all of us re-watch it every single year and secretly wish we were one of the Sanderson sisters. Minus the whole eating the souls of little children thing, of course. So even though it’s been over 20 years since the original, I say we all start petitioning to get that sequel GOING. Considering they’re remaking and rebooting everything these days, it shouldn’t be that hard… #BringBackThackaryBinx
