Black shoes are already being worn by students on the first day of school this year.
KiniTV also found students wearing white shoes during a visit to Sekolah Kebangsaan Taman Putra Perdana, Puchong this morning.
Deputy Education Minister Teo Nie Ching said students will be allowed to wear white or black shoes during the transition period because the ministry does not intend to burden parents.
According to Teo, the Education Ministry's requirement for students to wear black shoes will only be enforced in 2021.
