Hey everybody, I’m Emile Ennis Jr.- and yes, BTS has done it again.
The K-Pop superstars performed at the Rose Bowl this Saturday and honestly, I’m shocked they didn’t cause the earth to spin off its axis.
There were 52 thousand people cheering them on in the crowd, which included a RANGE of people. Young fans who were screaming at the top of their lungs, curious parents, and even some people who flew in from across the country for the event.
The Rose Bowl performance kicked off BTS’s global “Love Yourself: Speak Yourself” tour.
The group’s leader, RM, spoke about the tour with radio.com. He told them QUOTE Since it’s a worldwide stadium tour, I think we [should] do something [with] bigger skills.”
And hey, he wasn’t lying about BIGGER. There were literally panthers on stage with them on Saturday. Yep, actual panthers.
This was in addition to fireworks, ziplines, holographic hearts and a massive inflatable slide.
While I’d personally probably pass on the panthers, that slide looked hella fun.
Fans in attendance included celebs like Nick Jonas- who posted videos on instagram of his mind-blowing experience.
In his Instagram story, you can hear the entire crowd singing along and waving their light sticks.
It’s no secret BTS is now considered to be among the highest ranks of American musicians. They’ve previously made headlines after fans lined up a week early ahead of their Saturday Night Live appearance, and for winning multiple Billboard Music Awards.
They even hold TWO Guinness World Records- one for having the most Twitter engagements, and another for garnering the most music video views in a 24-hour period. They beat Harry Styles and Taylor Swift in those categories.
These guys are serious pop sensations. Plus, now that the Rose bowl was such an epic performance, expectations for the rest of their world tour are somehow even higher than before. It’s all in a day’s work for BTS.
What do you think of their Rose Bowl performance? Were you one of the BTS Army in the crowd- or do you just wish you had been there? Let us know in the comments below!
