When it comes to opening an award show, there’s no one better for the job than Jimmy Fallon.

From Ryan Reynolds to Justin Timberlake, almost anybody who is somebody at the Golden Globes made an appearance in the grand opening skit alongside Jimmy. To say that the man of the hour and his team of creatives decided to look to ‘La La Land’ for some inspiration for the show’s opening is an understatement. In fact, Jimmy had a few of his famous friends actually help him recreate some of the film’s incredible moments. Amy Adams was in on it, and Nicole Kidman, Ryan Reynolds…
The kids from Stranger Things dropped an incredible rap and revealed a secret that turned our world upside down.
Tina Fey made a quickie appearance. Even Justin Timberlake got in on the fun to point his best buddy in the right direction.
However, when it came time for Jimmy’s monologue to kick off the show, it appeared as if he ran into a bit of a technical difficulty because, well, this happened.
To be honest, we couldn’t really tell if his teleprompter was actually malfunctioning or if he was just making a production joke because of what happened to Mariah Carey on New Year’s Eve. Regardless, his opening skit was stellar and will probably be talked about for a couple of days.
