Say it ain’t so! Riverdale stars Cami Mendes and Charles Melton are taking a break from their relationship.What’s up? It’s Emile Ennis Jr. here with Clevver News and we love all the Riverdale on screen couples, but what I’m really here for is the off screen romances.We have Lili Reinhart and Cole Sprouse who are love interests both on and off the show, and Cami Mendes and Charles Melton who had a fling on Riverdale and in real life.But apparently, Cami and Charles secretly decided to push pause on their relationship months ago.These two first sparked romance rumors back in the summer of 2018 and we thought they’d been going strong ever since.But a source told E! News that quote, “Cami and Charles have been separated for a few months now. They are taking a break from their relationship. Their relationship escalated very quickly and they are taking time now to focus on their work and themselves.”Ugh my heart can’t handle this kind of sadness right now. I was just starting to look forward to the weekend and was in a great mood, thanks a lot SOURCE.So now I’m just over here trying to figure out WHEN they split up.Back in August, Cami marked their one-year anniversary by sharing a kissing photo of them. The pic is still up on her IG and she wrote quote, "365 days. i love you.”And Charles shared a similar anniversary post also writing “i love you.”So clearly it was at some point between August and now.E!'s source also explained that there was no major conflict or drama that broke them up. They've just been dealing with distance, stress, and work… like the rest of us.But apparently, the stress from their growing careers in particular caused the quote "ups and downs" in their relationship.Why can’t people figure out a way to balance both work and love in their lives?! It’s the reason so many relationships have ended, both in and out of Hollywood, and my heart can’t take it anymore.Interestingly enough though, for Cami and Charles, some of their work is together. Which got me wondering, is it awkward on the set of Riverdale? And how do you take a break from someone you have to see every day?The source also clarified that by saying quote, “Mendes and Melton are committed to professionalism though. They are still in touch and both understand they need to be cordial while on set and throughout press for the show. They have been filming together while being split and things have been normal.”They went on to say that quote, “Everyone is very close on the show and are all very good friends. They can't ignore each other so they just remain cordial and try and focus on filming. They are still filming Riverdale season 4, but will have a break for the holidays for a few weeks.”And even before this source spoke up, rumors of a split had been bubbling up on social media for a while now considering the couple hadn’t posted a photo together since the anniversary posts.Not that that means they aren’t together, but it’s worth nothing. And while I’m over here fully heartbroken over all of this, I do have to remember that neither Cami or Charles have confirmed this news. It seems like it’s all still speculation at the moment.Cami’s IG stories have been mostly of her new dog, which I’m not mad about.And regardless of what’s going on between them, fans just want Cami and Charles to know that they support them.

Another just shared this fitting GIF from The Office.And another fan brought up an interesting point of conversation and said quote, “I swear to god if this is another Cole and Lili situation imma lose it leave them alone”. And in case you missed it, earlier this year after Comic Con, there were rumors that Lili and Cole had also secretly broken up.We’re still a little unclear on if those rumors had any truth behind them but it’s clear that Lili and Cole are going strong now.At the time though, Lili posted an Instagram telling us that quote “none of you know sh*t.”And Cole posted the same photo with an even weirder caption about a bacchanalian sex cult.I have no idea what that means, nor do I want to know.And like I said, it’s clear Lili and Cole are in a great place now.Lili recently shared these pics of them cuddling and kissing.No speculation, no rumors, no alleged sources, this was straight from the horse’s mouth. That’s the kind of reporting I LOVE!But regardless of where they are at now, the internet was extremely upset over the way the media handled the Lili/Cole break up rumors.It seemed like everyone just jumped to the conclusion that they broke up when in fact we didn’t know the details.
