Another car wreckage and a factory building have been torched near the Sri Maha Mariamman temple in USJ 25, Subang Jaya, tonight, less than 24 hours after the initial commotion that left 18 cars and two motorbikes scorched.
The incident occurred as thousands gathered near the temple to purportedly “defend” it from a further incident, despite police warnings for them to disperse.
It is unclear what led to the vehicle - a Perodua Myvi - and a factory near the temple to be set ablaze just past 1am.
However, several people were seen attacking a fire truck responding to the blaze with projectiles and blunt objects, while others harassed journalists and told them to stop recording.
The police, which included at least one Federal Reserve Unit (FRU) troop at the scene, did not appear to intervene.
Earlier, as of around 11pm, most of the crowd appear to be calm and were seen milling about on nearby streets, while traffic information services on Google Maps and Waze both show heavy traffic congestion on surrounding roads.
However, some were seen setting up a makeshift roadblock and harassing passing drivers and motorcyclists.
