In light of recent events across the country, today’s holiday has taken on a whole new life and has sparked a protest being called “A Day Without a Woman,” that plans to highlight the economic power of women who will gather to protest instead of head to work today. Today’s protest will also highlight the massive, ridiculous pay gap between men and women. And some of these women happen to be some of entertainment’s biggest names.
Alicia Keys hit twitter to post the announcement about the march happening in New York City today, while Adele posted QUOTE: Whatever women do they must do twice as well as men to be thought half as good. Luckily, this is not difficult.” Queen Madonna tweeted out this pic, with a caption that reads: Dreaming of a World Where Women have Equal Rights. Kim Kardashian tweeted out: Thank u to all of the strong women who fought & continue to fight for change. #InternationalWomensDay. Katy Perry posted this pic on Instagram with this caption: Standing with all my sisters in solidarity! Gonna be a lady in red tomorrow
