Chrissy Teigen & More Celebs Call For BOYCOTT Of People Magazine For This Trump Cover

If you pick up a copy of People magazine this week you will find a glowing picture of Donald Trump with the headline saying QUOTE – “President Trump. His life, his family, and his astonishing journey to the White House.” People magazine also tweeted the cover saying – “He’s hired! Donald Trump is elected 45th President of the United States in stunning upset.” Many are outraged by People’s choice to feature Trump on the cover, especially after he threatened the magazine with a lawsuit following a story they did on a former reporter named Natasha Stoynoff who accused Trump of sexual assault. Following the lawsuit, People’s editor-in-chief made a statement saying QUOTE - "It is heartbreaking that her fear of retaliation by Trump kept her from reporting the incident when it happened."
And now many are now calling for a boycott of the magazine. Actress Zoe Kazan being one of them, tweeting QUOTE – “BOYCOTTPEOPLEMAGAZINE. Your own writer was assaulted by this man. Now you look the other way for profit? Normalizing him is shameful. I won't stand for it. Celebs: do not give them your interviews or sell them your picture. Readers: do not give them your money. This matters.” Chrissy Teigan said - "If I didn't love you guys so much, I wouldn't feel so sick. So much for that writer, eh?" Judd Apatow was clearly upset with the magazine’s decision to feature Donald saying QUOTE - "F--- @people magazine. How disgusting. Selling their soul. Soon the happy Donald cover. Sell those mags! F--- your employees."
To get People magazine’s side of the story, CNNMoney reached out for a statement and a spokesperson doe the magazine said QUOTE - "Donald Trump's win is a history-making news event that warranted the cover of the magazine. The story is not a celebration or an endorsement and we continue to stand by Natasha Stoynoff, whose account of being attacked by Trump in 2005 is recounted in this week's cover story."
