Police have been urged to investigate the alleged underground sale of driving licenses said to be taking place on social media and on the web.
Special Function Officer to the Minister of Transport, Chung Yi Fan claimed that checks have revealed that illegally obtained licenses, or lesen terbang, for various vehicle classes were being offered online.
"Checks on social media and on the Internet showed that unscrupulous parties are claiming they could get customers licences for prices ranging from hundreds to thousands of ringgit," Chung told reporters after lodging a report at the Petaling Jaya police district headquarters today.
