SO as we all know – Riverdale is pretty much the biggest and best thing to happen on TV in the last few years BUT does it have some new competition? Well if you ask me, there’s always room for more solid entertainment so in this situation more is more. According to various reports, Titans is about to TV’s newest hit and it just found one of it’s leading ladies – Anna Diop, who will play alien princess Koriand’r, also known as Starfire. This heroine character is described as being QUOTE “an alien princess from a warrior plant who seeks asylum on Earth. A no-nonsense, take no prisoners stranger on our world, she hast the ability to shoot energy bolts and fly. Searching for her place on Earth, she’ll come into contact with the Titans.”
Also joining the cast is Teagan Croft will play the role of Raven. The show, which is a DC universe fave will focus on “the eponymous group of young Super Heroes-to-be from the DC Universe. The action series centers on Dick Grayson (probably best known for his alter ego as Robin), who emerges from the shadow of Batman to become Nightwing, the leader of a fearless band of new Super Heroes including Starfire, Raven, and many others.”
Another must-know factoid is that this show will air on DC’s new streaming service – it’ll be pretty cool to see how that turns out and how many people watch. IN case you’re not familiar – Titans is a new live show based on the world of the teen Titans – aka some of your favorite superheroes as teens. There was a pretty epic trailer shown at Comic Con that has some people drawing comparisons between Titans and Riverdale with many wondering whether Titans would be DC’s answer to the CW hit show. Well according to Geoff Johns, a writer and EP on the show, Titans will be QUOTE “a little more adult” than Riverdale…it’s not necessarily a teen drama, more of an adventure piece.” And again, keep in mind, this won’t be on traditional TV so there won’t be as many restrictions. In the new trainer that dropped at Comic Con, Robin (ya know Batman’s bff and pic) drops and F-bomb, so take that as a grain of salt.
Guys – who’s excited? And what do you think of the Riverdale comparison? Hit us up in the comments to join the convo and then click here to see another new video. I’m Joslyn Davis thanks for watching and be sure to subscribe!
