Supergirl Visits Riverdale Set & Show's Creator Teases CROSSOVER?!

It’s a bird, it’s a plane, it’s Supergirl on Riverdale?
Two of the biggest shows on the CW could be teaming up in a way we never expected.
Riverdale premiered on the CW less than a year ago and has become an instant-hit. The show starring our childhood fave Cole Sprouse and New Zealand hottie KJ Apa is already a fan favorite and is currently filming for season two.
Season one left us with tons of questions like (spoiler alert): who was the masked gunman and how is Jughead going to deal with his move to Southside? Not only are we high-key stressed about the Archie gang, but we’re getting even more whiplash from all the rumors that Lili Reinhart and Cole Sprouse may or may not be dating. Our fingers are crossed that Bughead is a romance both on and off-screen.
Thankfully we won’t have to wait too long to find out what happens next on Riverdale because season two is already set to air on October 11. While the cast and crew have been tight-lipped on what to expect, we have been getting some behind-the-scenes sneak peeks all thanks to social media.
We love to see Lili Reinhart, Camila Mendes and Madelaine Petsch post hilarious selfies and videos while hanging while on break, and we’d be lying if we said we haven’t taken a screenshot to see if we could find any clues hidden in the background. But the newest reveal actually came from the Riverdale’s showrunner, Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa himself!
Roberto tweeted out that Supergirls very own Melissa Benoist decided to stop in at Pop’s for a quick bite. Saying “Look who dropped in to #Riverdale for a visit! Worlds colliding!! Can a crossover be far behind??”
We’re crossing our fingers that this actually happens. We can totally see it now- Archie and his friends get into some sort of trouble (again) and Supergirl rushes in to save them- cape and all.
The official Archie comics Twitter even helped push for the crossover by tweeting out a pic of Melissa sans-costume with Aj and Cole!
