It’s only been a month since season two of Riverdale ended, but fans have already been demanding a release date for season three. Well, the CW finally announced when Archie and the gang will return to TV, and it might be sooner than you think.
The network released their fall schedule, which includes not only Riverdale but also shows like Arrow, Dynasty and Supernatural. Riverdale will premiere on October 10 at 8 p.m. eastern time, and a brand-new series, All American, will air right after.
So, what’s in store for season three? The cast has kept pretty quiet so far, but the show’s creator, Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, said the next season will focus on a specific genre. He told The Hollywood Reporter QUOTE: "Season three will have a high genre element. That's what the show is. It's not just about the Archie characters. It's the Archie characters put into a specific genre, and we see how they relate and survive and adapt."
Ashleigh Murray, who plays Josie on the show, gave a few hints of her own as well. She told MTV at Monday’s night’s Movie Awards QUOTE: “Roberto is so open to conversations about what we would like to see for our characters, which is very rare. We have talked more about Josie and the Pussycats, and it’s one of those things where it hasn’t been an easy answer and we’re constantly working on a way to bring it back. It’s definitely something that our eye is on, that we want to try and revive. It’s just a question of how. I feel like there’s some really great things in store for season three. I have all kind of secrets that I can’t share.”
Why’d you tease us like that, Ashleigh?! Well, they might not be revealing what’s going to happen in season three just yet, but what do you guys think?
