Lili Reinhart REVEALS If There'll Be A Riverdale-Sabrina Crossover

Lili Reinhart dishes on the potential of a Riverdale and Sabrina TV crossover!
Could Betty’s dark side continue in the witchy world of Sabrina?!
So WAY BEFORE the new Sabrina spinoff was officially picked up by Netflix, Riverdale fans were speculating that the Archie comics show may introduce Sabrina The Teenage Witch. But then we found out that Sabrina is getting her very own new series...and we have LOTS of questions! Is it possible some of the Riverdale characters could crossover to Sabrina’s world? Or vice versa? It’s not that crazy of an idea, seeing as the shows are being produced by the same team, both are adapted from Archie comics, and both live in the same universe.
Lili Reinhart gave us some of those answers in her new Vulture interview… and SPOILER it’s not sounding good! Vulture asked Lili if she would want to swing by Sabrina for a guest appearance as Betty and dabble in some magic? Lili crushed our dreams saying QUOTE, “I think Betty’s solely in the Riverdale world and it doesn’t make sense for a crossover. That’s why the decision was ultimately made to move to Netflix - to make these Riverdale and Sabrina shows completely separate universes.”
Lili also pointed out that the two worlds are vastly different because at the moment Riverdale doesn’t have a supernatural element like Sabrina does… but we think that could all change. Lili ended her statement by joking, “So, I’d say don’t expect Betty to be in that world. And that’s totally okay, because she’s got her own sh*t going on in Riverdale.”
Sounds like Riverdale is staying magic-free, for now. We have to admit that the fact that Sabrina was picked up by Netflix and Riverdale airs on the CW would make it difficult for the shows to have a true crossover. So we’re probably going to have to wait for the Sabrina premiere to meet our new teenage witch Kiernan Shipka. And we’re going to have to count on Riverdale to continue to evolve Betty’s dark side.
