Lili Reinhart Reveals She Was VICTIM Of Sexual Harassment

Ever since the news broke earlier this month that American film producer Harvey Weinstein was accused of harassment, assault and rape, women in Hollywood have been bravely speaking out.
Some of Harvey’s victims included Kate Beckinsale, Cara Delevingne, Angelina Jolie, Minka Kelly, Rose McGowan, Gwyneth Paltrow, and MANY others. However, it’s not only Harvey’s victims that are feeling empowered to speak out in the wake of the scandal. Now, many other celebrities who have had a similar experience at the hands of someone in a position of powerful are making their voices heard.
One of these celebrities is Riverdale’s own, Lili Reinhart, who took to her Tumblr page recently to share an awful experience she had when a, QUOTE, “man in a position of power over me, used that said power to try and take advantage of me.” She explained that although she had a crush on the “significantly older” guy at first, things took a turn for the worse when they actually went out on a date.
Lili wrote, QUOTE, “He tried to force himself on me when we were on a date. I had to stop him and say, “no, I don’t want that,” and “I can’t do that.” I physically walked away from the situation before it could get any worse. I remember feeling like this was a scene right out of a horror movie.” She went on to explain how she couldn’t afford her own way home at the time, so she naively got in his car, assuming he would drive her home. However, she quickly realized that he was trying to take her back to his apartment. Luckily, after insisting that he take her home, he did so reluctantly.
Lili also said that the days following were extremely awkward and painful for her. She recalled feeling guilty; as if she’d done something wrong because the man was so angry and claimed that she was, QUOTE, “a tease,” and “the most manipulative woman he’d ever met.”
Even though Lili was fortunate in that she was able to maneuver her way out of a potentially dangerous situation, many victims aren’t as lucky, which is why she decided to speak out. She closed her Tumblr post with a powerful message about the victims, saying, QUOTE, “I stand with them. I believe them. I believe in standing up for yourself as a woman and coming forward about sexual harassment. I’m coming forward about my own experience to further express how common these assaults are in this industry and how important it is that we take action to fight against it.”
