Demi Lovato sat down with Ellen DeGeneres and talked self love and taking back the power from negative comments.
I think Demi said all she needed to say with “Sorry Not Sorry.”
Demi recently declared on instagram that she is on a mission in 2018 to practice self love. She then posted a slew of swimsuit photos, looking bomb by the way, and told Ellen that building her confidence is a day to day process that she strives to stay committed to. During her appearance on the Ellen DeGeneres show, Demi said QUOTE - “I’ve been working on myself for the past year, more so than I’ve ever worked on myself. I’ve really surrendered to the process of just learning to love yourself, and I feel like it shows through my pictures. I post more bathing suit pictures online. I want to show my fans that it’s possible that they can get to that self-love too.”
Demi went on to say that part of building that confidence and self love means taking the power away from negative comments. There was one bathing suit photo in particular that she was hesitant to post which she detailed in the caption saying QUOTE – “So, I’m insecure about my legs in this picture but I’m posting it because I look so happy and this year I’ve decided I’m letting go of my perfectionism and embracing freedom from self criticism. Learning to love my body the way it is is challenging but life changing. Giving up my eating disorder has been the most challenging journey of my life but I work every day towards solid recovery even if I mess up sometimes.” And Demi had a few words for the haters.
Good for Demi. I think everyone should follow suit in taking the power back because if you feel good about yourself honestly who cares what other people think?
