First FULL ‘Mary Poppins Returns’ Trailer Debuts & Emily Blunt is PURE magic.
A spoonful of this trailer is all you need to get excited for the Mary Poppins reboot.
Emily Blunt stars as the titular character of Disney’s ‘Mary Poppins’ reboot, ‘Mary Poppins Returns.’ And just a few seconds into the first trailer for the film, we can already tell that Emily was the PERFECT casting choice.
Mary Poppins Trailer (0:38-0:53)
It’s not easy filling in Julie Andrews’ shoes, but Emily has clearly made the role her own.
And as you can see, this reboot is actually a sequel rather than a copy-cat of the original film. ‘Mary Poppins Returns’ sees Mary coming back into the lives of the Banks children, Michael and Jane, now that they’re all grown up and in need of Mary’s magical nanny skills once again. In the trailer, we see that Michael now has children of his own, and Mary comes back into the Banks’ lives as they mourn the loss of Michael’s wife.
Mary Poppins Trailer (1:11-1:26)
The film takes place during Depression-era London, and also stars Lin Manuel Miranda as Mary’s friend Jack. Other cast members include Colin Firth, Dick Van Dyke, Julie Walters, Angela Lansbury, and Meryl Streep. Judging by the trailer there’s going to be even more magic, music, and adventure in this film than the original, and needless to say we’re already obsessed.
