Government spokesperson Fahmi Fadzil denied that the proposed law to allow house arrest of prisoners is not designed to facilitate the release of any specific individual, including VIPs.
He said this amid speculation that the law is meant to pave the way for releasing former prime minister Najib Abdul Razak.
