Patty Jenkins and Gal Godot released the first images of the Wonder Woman sequel and revealed that a major character will be returning.
Wonder Woman will continue to fight for those who cannot fight themselves - but with bigger hair.
Early this morning, Gal Godot posted the first picture of her as Wonder Woman in the sequel due our Nov 1 2019. It’s Diana Prince standing in front of 12 TV screenings, seemingly trying to make sense of the new era she’s finding herself in. Bonus points if you can point out any of the 1980s cultural phenomena in the photo!
And just 10 minutes before Gal posted THAT photo, Patty Jenkins, the director tweeted out the new title of the movie, revealing that it would not be called Wonder Woman 2, but rather Wonder Woman 1984, confirming as previously thought that the movie would take place during the Cold War. She didn’t only drop the new title though, she also welcomed STEVE TREVOR to the movie which is a major plot twist, given that Trevor, played by Chris Pine sacrificed himself at the end of Wonder Woman 2.
On Wednesday, after Patty Jenkins announced that the sequel would take place in the United States Warner Brothers confirmed that shooting would mainly take place in Alexandria, VA and Washington DC with some international locations as well including Spain, the Canary Islands and the UK.
Adding to the list of information we’ve gotten about the upcoming flick, we also know that Kristen Wiig of Bridesmaids and SNL will be playing Wonder Woman’s nemesis in 1984 and Game of Thrones star Pedro Pascal will also being playing QUOTE a “Pivotal” role in 1984.
In case you can’t wait until Nov 1 2019 for your DC Universe fix, never fear, Aquaman starring Jason Momoa is slated for release on December 21.
