Instead, the next installment in Marvel’s Guardians of The Galaxy franchise will feature a whopping 5 end credit scenes, which James Gunn confirmed via his twitter. And we happen to have a lot of trust in Gunn, who also just announced that he will return to write and direct Guardians of The Galaxy Vol. 3. In a lengthy post addressed to fans, James said QUOTE “…the question that comes up perhaps the most is, ‘What’s the deal with Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, and are you going to direct?’ “So, after many months of ruminations and discussions, I know the answer. I could save this answer for the first, random interviewer to ask me during the press junket but instead I thought I’d share it with the most important people in the Guardiansverse – you, the fans, who have been so incredibly supportive and enthusiastic over the past five years, it has moved me to tears on a regular basis.”
James went on to announce QUOTE “So, yes, I’m returning to write and direct Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.
In the end, my love for Rocket, Groot, Gamora, Star-Lord, Yondu, Mantis, Drax, and Nebula – and some of the other forthcoming heroes – goes deeper than you guys can possibly imagine, and I feel they have more adventures to go on and things to learn about themselves and the wonderful and sometimes terrifying universe we all inhabit. And, like in both Vol. 1 and Vol. 2, we will work on creating the story that goes beyond what you expect.
It goes without saying that James Gunn has definitely earned our loyalty as fans of the franchise, so we can’t wait to see him take on another Guardians. But luckily we won’t have to wait too long before we get our Star Lord fix, or in my case, Baby Groot fix, because Guardians 2 hits theatres in less than one month on May 5th, and the cast is hard at work promoting the film.
Appearing on Jimmy Fallon, the gang had the audience in hysterics with games and interviews, and even a little accapella performance.
But do we really need any promotion at this point? Every teaser has been increasingly entertaining, with a brand new shirtless Star-Lord infused trailer dropping just yesterday.
Not even Chris Pratt’s abs can distract me from what’s really important here… Baby Groot? Duh.
Now it’s time for you all to weigh in and share your thoughts on James Gunn returning to write and direct Guardians 3. Leave it all in the comments below and let me know if you’re heading out to see Guardians of The Galaxy Vol. 2 next month, and of course hit that subscribe button for all the latest updates.
