It’s that time of year again for yet another round of lucky stars to take home a golden bucket of popcorn. It’s the MTV Movie Awards coming our way April 12th and we’ve got all the details on the nominees.
Welcome to Clevver’s Trophy Life where we keep you in the know on all the must see moments and updates all award show season.
This year’s show hosted by Amy Schumer is sure to be a star studded night filled with A-listers from films like Boyhood, American Sniper, Mockingjay Part 1, Lucy, Guardians of the Galaxy, The Fault In Our Stars, Neighbors, 22 Jump Street, Whiplash, Gone Girl, and Selma, just to name a few leading the nominations.
Guardians of the Galaxy, The Fault In Our Stars, and Neighbors, are all dusting off their shoulders with seven nominations each followed by 22 Jump Street and Whiplash with 5 nominations under their belts.
Some of your favorite lady A-listers nominated include Jennifer Lawrence, Shailene Woodley, Scarlett Johansson, Reese Witherspoon, and Emma Stone all nominated for Best Female Performance while in the adjoining testosterone category we have Chris Pratt, Ansel Elgort, Miles Teller, Channing Tatum, and Bradley Cooper.
And if you’ve seen the fun filled show before, you are well aware that the MTV Movie Awards likes to add some spice to its categories. One of our favorites is no doubt the award for Best Shirtless Performance which brought us one of the most coveted moments in award show history last year when Rita Ora ripped Zac Efron’s shirt off. Yeah that was a good day for mankind. And fingers crossed for a redo because Zac is nominated once again alongside Chris Pratt, Channing Tatum, Ansel Elgort, and Kate Upton.
Other fan favorite categories include Best Fight with nominations for Captain America, 22 Jump Street, and the Maze Runner to name a few, Best Kiss with nominations for the Fault In Our Stars, duh, The Interview, and the Amazing Spider Man 2, along with various other fun categories including Best WTF Moment, Best Scared As Sh*t Moment, Best DUO, Best Villain, Best Musical Moment –that Hunger Games Hanging Tree song is in there-- Best Comedic Performance, and Best on screen Transformation. So no doubt this year’s show is sure to be highlight worthy so be sure to check back with us here on Trophy Life for a recap of all the moments you won’t want to miss.
The awards airs April 12th at 8pm Eastern and voting begins TODAY so be sure to hop online to support your favorites.
