The Critics Choice Awards recognize everything from TV shows to movies to talk shows and reality competitions. As far as the movie categories go, “Get Out” is up for five awards, Dunkirk is up for eight, but “The Shape Of Water” takes the lead with fourteen total nominations.
It’s no surprise that The Crown, Game Of Thrones, This Is Us and Stranger Things are all up for Best Drama Series. While Big Bang Theory, Black-ish, GLOW, Modern Family, Patriot, and a new personal favorite, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel were nominated for best comedy series.
Although, we can’t help but notice a major Netflix show missing from the nominations, 13 Reasons Why. This isn’t the first time this show has slid under the radar. They were also snubbed at this years Emmy awards. It just seems surprising since it was one of the most tweeted and talked about shows of the year.
In regards to our favorite guilty pleasure, reality competitions, America’s Got Talent, The Voice, Chopped, Dancing With The Stars, Project Runway, and RuPaul’s Drag Race are all up for nominations.
