PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang said those who understood his statement as advocating for a dual cabinet that segregates Muslim and non-Muslims were wrong.
Instead, Hadi said he was only referring to the distribution of portfolios during his speech in Penang last Sunday.
"Dual cabinet is incorrect, it's not a dual cabinet but the distribution of duties.
"It's normal that in the government there is a prime minister, deputy prime minister, special functions minister and ministers with specific ministries.
"That's the normal distribution of duties, not two cabinets. They did not understand my statement," he said in an interview at the PAS headquarters in Kuala Lumpur yesterday.
