Harry Styles DECLINES Role Of Prince Eric In 'The Little Mermaid' Remake!

Looks like Harry Styles did not want to be apart of “this” world.
Hey everyone, it’s Sussan Mourad here with Clevver News and I know this is gonna be a bit of a tough one to swallow for a lot of us, but after a lot of speculation-slash-dreaming-slash-in the hopes of manifesting, it’s now been confirmed that Harry Styles... has respectfully turned down the part of Prince Eric in the upcoming “Little Mermaid” film.
I know, I know, where did this all go so wrong?
As you know we recently reported on the online speculation and reports that Harry was in talks to play Prince Eric in the Disney remake; however, there was no word yet from Harry or his camp if this was actually true. As those stories died down, we all waited patiently for more news on the casting... but to be honest, it felt like it was only a matter of time before Harry was confirmed for the role.
Because, um hello, have you ever seen a more perfect looking Prince Eric?
Anyway, yesterday all the speculation of Harry playing Prince Eric was back on again in a massive Twitter whirlwind. It started with two huge theatre chains, *cough AMC *cough Regal cough, tweeting out that it was CONFIRMED that Harry was set to play Prince Eric, causing the entire Twitter verse to go crazy with excitement.
But while our poor unfortunate souls were rejoicing, our excitement and hopes got basically crushed as news then broke that Ariel will unfortunately have to find herself a new prince.
E! News wrote that a source close to the project said,
"While [Harry] is a fan of the project he has respectfully declined the offer."
Ughhhh really?! Harry?? Whyyyyyy
IDK, Maybe one of the other One Direction guys is up for the task? Zayn maybe? He was a fan favorite to play Aladdin… just sayin’.
It was rumored that Harry may have been up for the role.... but I guess we'll never see our guy “Under the Sea.”
Sorry I couldn’t resist.
As of now the only official cast member for the film is Halle Bailey, all others like our girl Awkwafina, Javier Bardem, Jacob Tremblay and Melissa McCarthy have been talked about, but not confirmed by the studio.
All we know is this movie has our money regardless.
