Harvey Weinstein Surrenders to the NYPD after finally being charged with a sex time.
For some reason the words “It’s about time” are coming to mind…
TMZ reports that Harvey turned himself into the New York Police department this morning, after he was charged with rape, a criminal sex act, sex abuse and sexual misconduct for incidents involving two separate women.
He was taken to the NYPD 1st precinct, where he was handcuffed before being ushered into court where he was set to be arraigned.
Earlier this week it was reported that the former Weinstein co producer was charged with QUOTE, "engaging in sexual intercourse with another person by forcible compulsion." That rape charge involves an unidentified woman, who told police that on March 18th, 2013, Harvey physically kept her against her will in a room and raped her after she expressed a clear lack of consent. The allegation sounds extremely similar to the dozens that broke shortly after Harvey was outed as a sexual predator, who particularly preyed on young actresses who thought they were meeting with the producer to talk about acting roles.
Harvey was also charged with forcing a woman named Lucia Evans to QUOTE, “engage in oral sexual conduct” in 2004.
Harvey’s lawyer, Ben Brafman, said of the charges QUOTE, “Mr. Weinstein has always maintained that he has never engaged in non-consensual sexual behavior with anyone. Nothing about today's proceedings changes Mr. Weinstein's position. Mr. Weinstein maintains that he is Not Guilty of the charges filed today and is confident that he will be fully exonerated.” Even though Harvey didn’t enter a plea today, it sounds like he’s going to plea not guilty.
As for the victims, they were praised by the NYPD for coming forward in a statement that read QUOTE, “The NYPD thanks these brave survivors for their courage to come forward and seek justice.” We second that.
