Ryan Gosling breaks his silence on the Harvey Weinstein scandal!
Ryan is “deeply disappointed” in himself.
Ryan Gosling has chimed in on the escalating Hollywood scandal that is Harvey Weinstein. The movie producer has been outed as a serial sexual harasser but many high profile actresses including Rose McGowan, Ashley Judd, Angelina Jolie, Cara Delevingne, and more.
Ryan decided to insert himself into the conversation by tweeting a lengthy note of support. He started by announcing he had no idea what was going on writing QUOTE, “I want to add my voice of support for the women who have had the courage to speak out against Harvey Weinstein. Like most people in Hollywood, I have worked with him and I’m deeply disappointed in myself for being so oblivious to these devastating experiences of sexual harassment and abuse.”
It sounds like Ryan’s personal disappointment in himself led him to speak out. Ryan ended his statement with a call for change saying, “Men should stand with women and work together until there is real accountability and change.” Ryan worked with Weinstein on his 2010 films Blue Valentine, and All Good Things.
Yesterday, Harvey Weinstein HIMSELF responded to the accusations against him and told Page Six TV QUOTE, “I don’t know what to say. With some [people I considered close friends], it saddens me. I am profoundly devastated. I have lost my wife and kids, whom I love.” Umm we’re still waiting for that apology, Harvey.
Until then, we applaud Ryan Gosling for speaking out on this unthinkable scandal unfolding right now. Do you guys believe that Ryan really had NO IDEA about Weinstein’s decades-long harassment? Tell us below your thoughts on that one. Then click here for more on this story- watch Cara Delevingne and more speak out on what Weinstein did to THEM.
